The Usupovsky Palace is not as luxurious as the Livadisky or Vorontsov ones, but it is interesting because of its complex history. The palace-park in the neoromantic style has been built by a famous architect Krasnov for one of the most influential and rich families in Russia – earls Usupovs. It is interesting that Felix Felixovich Usupov did not like his palace in Koreiz and considered it to be ugly.

After emigration of earls Usupovs abroad the palace went to the All-Russian Extraordinary Commission department led by Dzerzhinsky as a government cottage #4. Later the representatives of many socialist countries as well as many officials had a rest in this cottage. Earlier the palace was closed for visitors serving as a government residence. Nowadays it belongs to the President of Ukraine Department, and is open for tourists. You have a unique chance to see the apartments by Usupov, Stalin, and Molotov.

The excursion is finished with a walk along the Miskhor coast where you can see the sculpture “Water Nymph” (“Rusalka”).
